Blue Hawai

The Blue Hawaii is a tropical cocktail. The base liquor is usually light rum but vozka may be partially or completely substituted as a matter of taste. The Blue Hawaii was invented in 1957 by Harry Yee, the bartender of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki, Hawaii. This bartender had to create a new blue cocktail for promotion Curaçao liqueur. As with most tropical drinks, there are many variations in preparation, presentation, and ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 Oz Light Rum
  • 3/4 Oz Vodka
  • 1/2 Oz Blue Curacao
  • 3 Oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 Oz Sweet & Sour Mix

Elaboration Process

  1. Add all the ingredients in the cocktail shaker with ice and shake well for few seconds.
  2. Serve in a tall glass.
  3. Garnish with a slice of pineapple.
